Priory Powers Up with Three 3D Printers and a Growing Lunch Time Club
10 October 2025
Priory can now boast three 3D printers – and the 3D Printing Club pupils are impressed!
The club is for all year groups and meets every Friday lunch-time in Hex 1.
Year 7 Arthur is a new member and said: “I love it as you can make whatever you want. I am designing Minecraft-based stuff and I am excited to print them.”
Bella said: “I am currently designing a key ring.”
Madison said: “It’s fun and there is an app which is easy to use and automatically saves everything!”
Year 9 Oliver said: “The 3D Printing Club is really cool. It’s a new skill to learn and could help me in the future. Mrs Qadri is so enthusiastic and is always encouraging pupils to try and make new things.”
Year 9 Eli added: “It’s great as you can make useful things or ornamental items. You can go into specific detail and also it’s more efficient. You will use the skills you learn in 3D Printing Club in real life on cars and such like so it should be useful.”
Mrs Qadri said: “We had one 3D printer donated by BAE Systems and we decided to buy two others to use in school. The children are so eager to learn more about them and, with one, it wasn’t enough.
“The new printers are faster to print and more efficient. They can also print in a number of colours so the pupils are learning a lot about them.
“The club is popular. We start usually by designing and making a key ring and now we are looking towards Christmas, we could be making some decorations.”
