U15 Girls Shine at Indoor Cricket Tournament
24 February 2026

On Tuesday 10 February, Priory’s U15 Girls cricket team took part in the Chorley & South Ribble Indoor Cricket Competition held at All Hallows.
Competing in a round‑robin format against All Hallows, Bishop Rawstorne and St Michael's, each match was played over eight overs, giving the girls plenty of opportunities to showcase their developing skills.
Although the team finished in fourth place overall, their performances were far from disappointing. Priory narrowly missed out on victory in two incredibly close encounters against Bishop Rawstorne and St Michael's, each decided by just two runs.
Their determination, teamwork and resilience were praised throughout the tournament. Many of the girls are new to cricket, yet they embraced the challenge with enthusiasm, showing excellent sportsmanship and encouraging one another every step of the way. Alongside the match experience, they have gained valuable new skills and confidence in the sport.
PE teacher, Miss Beesley, who led the team, said: “I’m incredibly proud of the girls. For many of them, this was their first real taste of competitive cricket, and they rose to the occasion brilliantly. Their attitude, support for one another, and willingness to learn stood out all afternoon. They represented Priory superbly.”
