Friday marked an emotional milestone for Year 11 as their time at Priory came to a close.

This year group began their high school experience in the wake of the Covid-19 pandemic, transitioning from primary school by swapping induction evenings and taster days for face masks and hand-sanitisers. Despite the challenges, they’ve shown remarkable resilience, determination, and growth - qualities that have defined their time with us far more than the circumstances they started in.

Following their morning Chemistry exam and a revision session for Monday's Physics exam, the celebrations began in earnest. Under blustery grey skies, the rain held off for pupils to gather in the Priory Gardens for the tradition of shirt-signing - with laughter, sadness, and messages of friendship.

The afternoon continued with a Celebration Assembly, led by Mr Eastham and Head of Year Mrs Eastham. Pupils were recognised for their achievements with a host of well-deserved certificates, awards, and trophies. The highlight of the assembly was a nostalgic farewell presentation, featuring photos from their early school days, shared memories, and reflections on what makes this year group so special. There were plenty of giggles - and a few cringes - as pupils looked back on their time at Priory.

We look forward to welcoming everyone back in school on 20 August for their GCSE results, and of course, celebrating in style at the Prom on 8 July.

We wish all our Year 11 pupils the very best in their future endeavours, and extend our heartfelt thanks to parents and guardians for their unwavering support throughout the years.

Now, with wings ready to soar, our pupils leave Priory to follow their dreams - wherever those paths may lead.

Enjoy the summer, everyone!
