Last Friday, we welcomed South Ribble Youth Parliament representative, Freddie Burnett-Cherry, for a special visit focused on listening to the views and experiences of young people.
During his visit, Freddie toured the school and spent time meeting with young people to learn more about the issues that matter most to them.
The visit provided an excellent opportunity for young people to share their thoughts on challenges and opportunities within their local community, while gaining a better understanding of how their voices can help shape positive change.
Pupils discussed a range of topics affecting young people, raising concerns and ideas that they felt were important for decision-makers to hear. Freddie listened carefully to their views and explained how the Youth Parliament works to represent young people's perspectives and influence local and national discussions.
The visit highlighted the importance of student voice and active citizenship, encouraging pupils to engage with the democratic process and recognise that they can play a meaningful role in improving their communities.
Ms Smith said, "We would like to thank Freddie for taking the time to visit Priory and for providing our pupils with the opportunity to have their views heard. We look forward to hearing more about his work in the autumn term workshop and seeing the positive impact that young people's voices can have across South Ribble".
