It’s always good to catch up with our Year 7s and find out how they have enjoyed their first few months at Priory.

Amelia says she has settled in easily after arriving from Cop Lane Primary School.

“The teachers are very welcoming and the school is nice. It’s obviously a lot bigger than primary school and we change teachers rather than have one teacher which is something I have had to get used to.

“My favourite lesson is English or Technology. I have also learnt a lot in Science. I have joined a few clubs, like football.

Isabella, from Broad Oak, said: “I like it a lot. The teachers are good and I have learnt a lot already. It was not scary at all. My favourite subject is Technology and I have joined the netball club. I have made a lot of friends.”

Leo went to Howick CofE Primary School. He said: “I like a lot of activities at Priory, like football. I have settled in easily and found my way around quickly. My favourite subject is Science.”

Lily also went to Howick. She said: “My favourite subject is French. I like learning a new language and I love my teacher, Mrs Bailey. I want to be an archaeologist or a judge.”

Amber went to Middleforth and she said: “PE is my favourite subject, I enjoy all the different lessons.”

Mike, from Whitefield Primary School, said: “I like Technology. The work we do is interesting.”

Eesa, also from Whitefield, said: “My favourite lessons are Computing and PE. I like that there are a lot of things to do at Priory.”

Head of Year 7, Mrs Farley, summed up their first half term by saying, “We know it can be so overwhelming, starting a new school, never mind  one with 750 pupils in it, but they’re all doing extremely well. They’ve taken it all in their stride, and it feels like they’ve been here for ages!

“We’ve had the usual mishaps with PE kits and remembering locker codes, but that’s all to be expected. It’s great to see them forming their new friendships, and getting out and about around school, and at all the extra-curricular clubs too. They’re really getting stuck in to all that we have to offer.”
