Priory was delighted to host the 2026 South Ribble Dance Competition on the afternoon and evening of 16 March, organised by South Ribble School Games.

This year’s theme, ‘Rhythms of Unity – Celebrating Sport, Culture and Creativity across the Globe’, brought colour, movement and excitement to the school as pupils showcased dance styles inspired by cultures from around the world.

We welcomed 17 schools to the event, with over 300 pupils taking part. The atmosphere throughout the evening was electric, with each group bringing their own creativity, enthusiasm and team spirit to the stage.

A huge well done to all the schools who took part. Congratulations to New Longton Primary School and Brownedge St Mary’s, who were crowned winners of the Primary and Secondary competitions respectively. Both schools will now go on to represent South Ribble at the Lancashire finals in Blackpool.

It was a brilliant evening from start to finish, and we were proud to be the host venue for such an inspiring community event.
