The Year 7 rounders team delivered an outstanding performance at the South Ribble Year 7 Rounders Tournament on Monday, 22 June, proudly securing an impressive third place out of eight competing schools.
Their achievement is a testament to the dedication, determination, and enthusiasm they demonstrated throughout the event.
From the very first game, the team showed a real commitment to giving their best. Their batting skills were particularly impressive, with players confidently stepping up to the plate and consistently sending the ball deep into play. This strong attacking approach put pressure on their opponents and played a key role in their success across the tournament.
Equally as important was the team’s excellent sense of teamwork. Throughout the day, the players supported one another, communicated clearly on the field, and worked together to make smart decisions both while batting and fielding. This unity was evident in every match and highlighted the positive team spirit that underpinned their performance.
A special mention must go to Chloe C, whose confidence grew noticeably with each game. She rose to the occasion, showing resilience and determination, and became an increasingly influential player as the tournament progressed. Her development over the day was fantastic to see and reflects her hard work and positive attitude.
PE Teacher, Mrs Bullock, added, “Each player contributed to the team’s success, and their collective effort resulted in a well-deserved place on the podium. Their performance not only showcased their sporting ability but also demonstrated excellent sportsmanship and pride in representing their school.”
Overall, it was a fantastic achievement, and they should all be incredibly proud of what they accomplished. With such talent and teamwork on display, the future looks very bright for this Year 7 rounders team.
